Half Girlfriend - Trailer Review

Hello guys, much awaited trailer of “Half Girlfriend” is finally out and here is my review. If you haven’t watched the trailer yet here it is take a look.

Half Girlfriend is based on celebrity novelist Cheatn Bhagat’s bestseller novel of same name. If you ask me there was a time when I used to be a big time Chetan Bhagat fan but then he became judge of Nach Baliye and he lost my respect and even that was not enough he appeared on Comedy Nights Bachao as a guest so other comedians can roast him and he lost whatever respect left. I understand only one thing writing is one of the most sacred and respected art form so If you are a writer you have to maintain your intellectual integrity you just can’t behave like a television celebrity who  always seek media attention and you are not even supposed to do that.

Now let’s talk about the trailer. Half Girlfriend stars Arjun Kapoor as a small town boy “Madhav Jha” and “Shraddha Kapoor” as a high class open minded Delhi girl “Riya Somani”. Both of them are coming from two whole different worlds and they have only one thing in common their love for Basketball. At first they begin to practice basketball together, Madhav falls in love with Riya knowing that she is way out of his league. Madhav proposes Riya, Riya says “I can’t be your girlfriend but I can be your half girlfriend” and rest of the story follows Madhav’s effort to make Riya his full girlfriend from half girlfriend.

Chetan Bhagat has written many bestsellers and out of all those Half Girlfriend is my second least favorite because unlike his other stories in this story he is not at all talking about corrupt society or rotten education system. Half girlfriend is just a love story and when I was reading that book I could feel that Chetan Bragat wrote this book keeping one thing in mind “This is going to be a feature film one day”.

Half girlfriend is directed by Mohit Suri who is now judge of “Nach Baliye”. Mohit Suri’s specialty is to capture pain of love on screen and he is doing that same thing in Half Girlfriend. He has given Half Girlfriend that “Ashiqui 2” theme where everyone is in pain and shouting and crying. One thing which really stood out for me was Arjit Singh’s soulful vocals in background I simply loved that song.

So all and I liked this trailer and I am waiting for the movie which is releasing on 19th may. Have you watched Half Girlfriend’s trailer what do you think about it please let me know in comments.

Hindi Medium - Trailer Review

Hello guys few days ago Hindi Medium’s trailer came out starring Irrfan khan. If you people know me you might know that Irrfan khan is one of my favorite actors. His acting method and dialogue delivery is impeccable. If you have not watched the trailer here it is.

While watching the trailer one quote really struck me that was “In this country English is not a language it’s a class”. And we all know it’s kind of true. People who know English they are using it and people who don’t know English they are learning it and still using it which is funny sometimes. I can understand that English is a global language and if you have to go with flow we must know the language. It’s ok if we use English but we should not ignore our Mother tongue. So please do not take people who don’t use English for granted. Let’s take Kapil Sharma’s example, people are saying that he is kind of comedy and if you follow him you know how bad his English is. So it’s not necessary that if you know English you are smart and if you don’t know English you know nothing. English is just a language not knowledge,

Now let’s talk about the trailer. By the trailer it looks like a story of a family. There is an upper middle class couple who wants their daughter to study in a great school and they are trying everything to make that possible. Now here is one more question what defines a good school? If you ask me a good school is a place where a child can grow mentally, emotionally and physically. If a school’s building is fancy, they have a lot of activities going on it doesn’t mean it’s a good school.

So  this family is trying their best to get their daughter in a so called “Good English Medium School” but all their efforts are failing now they have only one option left which is to apply from “Below Poverty Line Quota”. Yes it does sound ridiculous and funny but from a parent’s point of view it’s not funny. Parents will do anything or sacrifice anything for their child’s future.

So to apply from “BPL Quota” they start acting poor. When they are acting poor they realize that poor people might be poor they might not have lot of resources but they are still humans and they are more loving and united than we are. So all and all i really enjoyed the trailer and I am looking forward to watch this movie.

Phillauri - Movie Review

Hello everyone this week we will talk about Anushka Sharma’s Phillauri. As a producer Phillauri is her second movie after critically acclaimed NH10 so obviously for her there is lot on stake.

Now the story goes something like this. There is a boy Kanan (Suraj Sharma) who just came to India to merry his childhood love Annu (Mehrene Pirzada). Kanan has some fault in his stars to in order for him to merry Annu he has to merry a tree first. Kanan finds these ritual ridicules but his family forces him to follow this ritual. After his wedding with tree a beautiful ghost Shashi (Anushka Sharma) begin to haunt him and now Kanan has to manage his personal life with a ghost luring around him.

If we talk about acting Anushka Sharma is heart and soul of this Movie. She is looking beautiful and she plays the most charming ghost I have ever seen in my life. Do you remember that guy from movie “Life of Pie” who was stuck on a boat with a tiger, yes that boy is Suraj Sharma and he Plays Kanan. Personally I believe he is a great actor and he is capable of performing more challenging roles than this. He is not bad in this movie but I just feel like anyone could have played Kanan.

This movie begins with a loud Punjabi wedding. In that wedding everyone is Dancing, Shouting and drinking without any good reason. There is a grandmother who is always drinking and she is talking about her sex life. A grandmother talking about her sex life that is the last thing I want to watch on screen. There is a mother who is always shouting at someone and running here and there so those first 15-20 minutes of this movie is pretty exhausting.

This movie has 2 problems with it. First problem is story. Story is straight there are not enough twists and turns to keep you engaged and second problem is its pace. This movie is ridiculously slow. The climax sequence itself is 10 minutes long and those 10 minutes feels like forever so this movie can really check your patience.

So you can go for Phillauri if you are a diehard Anushka Sharma Fan otherwise I would suggest to give it a pass.

And last guys if you are a superhero maniac just like me. I mean I love superhero stuff and if you also like superhero stuff like T-shirt s, Refrigerator Magnets or pillow covers etc. check out www.posterboy.in they have a great range of products.

Thank you so much. That’s it for now see you all nest time till then “Be a gentlemen and respect women”.

Commando 2 - Movie Review

When I first saw its trailer it made me excited because it’s not every day that Bollywood offers such action movie made on this scale.

The story goes something like this, after the demonetization some rich, powerful big heads hires a man named Vicky Chadda to launder all their black money overseas. Now government of India wants all that money to come back to India and to do that they have to bring Vicky Chadda to India from Thailand. To accomplish that mission they assemble a team of expendables which includes obviously our antagonist Commander Karanvir Singh Dogra (Vidyut Jamwal), Bhavna Reddy (Adah Sharma), ACP Bakhtawar (Freddy Daruwala) and a Hacker named Zafar. Will they succeed in their mission to know that you have to watch this movie.

First of all this movie is all about Vidyut Jamwal who obviously need no introduction. we all know what he is capable of and Commando 2 is a huge showcase of his looks and skills.  His is running, jumping, breaking bones and doing all unbelievable things while looking hot at the same time. If you are a Vidyut Jamwal fan you are in for a treat I know there aren’t a lot of Vidyut Jamwal fans out their but with this movie he will make lots of new fans.

Apart from Vidyut Jamwal we have Adah Sharma. She is in this movie just to add some humor and glamour and she tries to make audience laugh with her funny accent which I did not find funny at all but you might find her funny.

Commando 2 is directed by Deven Bhojani. In case you don’t know him, Do you remember that chubby Gattu from Baa Bahu Aur Baby? Yes he is Deven Bhojani and considering it’s His first movie as a director he did a great job. His vision throughout the whole movie was crisp and clear “Lest make an Enjoyable and cool action movie”.

There are few things I really liked about this movie. First this movie knows what it is. Makers wanted to make a fun, Stupid, mindless but cool action movie and they did make a Fun, stupid, mindless but cool action movie. Second thing this movie has no songs. So no romantic song drama or no item number crap just two hours of back to back action. Third the makers made an action movie but they played on their strength they focused more on hand to hand combat which is more enjoyable.

So all and all if you want to spend some time with your friends go for it, Sit back, relax, shut down your brain and the key is to keep your expectations low. If you liked this article I have made a video about it check that out its right here.

So Have you seen Commando 2 what do you think about it let me know in comments. Next week we will talk about Badri Ki Dulhania till then “BE A GENTLEMAN AND RESPECT WOMEN”

KAABIL Trailer review

Hey guys, after bummer like Mohenjo Daro Hrithik Roshan is back in business with his latest outing with Yami Gautam and Sanjay Gupta in KAABIL. Trailer came out yesterday, in case you didn’t catch it here it is have a look first and then will talk a lot about it.

So first things first Hrithik Roshan is playing blind this time. Over the years he has proved himself many times as an actor and this time he looks promising as well. He is also looking  different this time may be its age but now as he is growing older he doesn’t have that pale face. In trailer you can clearly notice his chubby cheeks.

According to trailer story follows like this. A blind man meets a blind girl, they fall in love imagine to stay together happily forever. Then bad guys show up they do something bad or probably kill the girl and now our hero is out seeking revenge. Now this time our hero is blind so it is quite interesting to see how he avenges his love.

Kaabil is produced by Rakesh Roshan who needs no introduction this man knows his business. Sanjay Gupta who is quite famous for making grey shade movies like Shootout At Lokhandwala and Shootout At Wadala so he knows and he knows it very how to make films. One thing which really impressed me was background by Salim Sulaiman.

Now let’s talk about the bad guys played by Ronit Roy and his brother Rohit Roy. When we talk about playing bad guys Ronit Roy has got a natural kind of stone cold face so he also looking good. If my guess is not wrong Rohit Roy will be playing a side kick.

Overall trailer is looking promising. If you watched it let me know what you think about it.

AIRLIFT TRAILER REVIEW

Hey guys. I hope all of you are doing great. Akshay Kumar is back again with his latest movie Airlift and the trailer is already out is you haven’t seen it yet here is it take a look that we will talk about details.

So it’s the story of the largest human evacuation of Indians based in Kuwait during the Gulf war in 90s. It’s a kind of story where characters are ordinary people but everything around them changes in a snap and those ordinary people emerges as heroes.

The trailer starts with a phone call when Ranjit Katiyal (Akshay Kumar) calls Indian ministry on external affairs and ask them for urgent help on behalf of all Indians based in Kuwait. From the other end what he receives is only dirty politics and typical Indian government office response.

Than Akshay Kumar’s driver been shot by a 16 year old Iraqi soldier and he is threatened by an Iraqi Major who ask him to leave Kuwait with his family and not to get involved with all those social work things. Now what will Akshay Kumar do will he protect his family or he will risk his own family for the life of all the Indians for that we have to watch this movie coming on this independence day.

There are very few things in this world which can give me goose bumps and on those things is national flag hoisting and you see that is this trailer with background music of “Vande Mataram”  and that is simply awesome.

So all and all what we can assume from this promising trailer is Akshay Kumar is back with a rock steady performance. It’s been a long time since we have seen Akshay Kumar in this kind of mode of acting and seriously he is looking good in this on. This movie will be a sitting on edge thriller and its worth waiting for. Airlift is coming out on 26th January 2015.

Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3 trailer review

Hello guys, I hope you enjoyed my list of 5 BEST MOVIES OF 2015. In last two days lots of people asked me one question “Have you seen the trailer of Kya Kool Hai hum 3?” with a crooked smile on their faces. By its prequels I was assuming nudity but this one takes everything to a whole new level if you haven’t seen it yet here it is go for it and make sure your mom dad are not around.

So first things first we have Aftab Shivdasani is replacing Ritesh Deshmukh and along with him we have Tusshar Kapoor (on bagger has no choice bases). Both guys are playing Porn stars and doing things you know what I mean by things.

Personally I am not a big fan of adult comedies maybe because I haven’t seen a genuine good adult comedy. There is one more reason why I don’t like these movie and that is it makes everything uncomfortable you can’t tell you parents which movie you are going for, you can’t go for it with your girlfriend or wife because  whenever you will laugh during movie they will give you that look.

In last few years we have seen some successful adult comedies like Grand Masti, Kya Kool Hai Hum, Kya super Kool Hai hum and Delhi Belly. To make an adult comedy all you need a shitty story, a screenplay writer who is sex crazy, and few superhot actresses who are jobless and last a dialogue writer who can manage to bring vulgarity to every line.

All and all Kya Kool Hai Hum will be a good boy’s hangout also a good girl’s hangout but separately.

"BROTHERS" Movie review

All this years Bollywood is consistently ripping Hollywood classics, First it was godfather (Sarkar) than it was Almighty Bruce (God tussi great ho) and now it’s time for critically acclaimed Warriors (Brothers). When you watch Warriors you feel like it has all necessary elements to become a top notch Hindi movie and finally Brothers are out and here is my review of Brothers.

First things first Brothers is directed by Karan Malhotra who previously directed Agneepath (New one) and now he is back with Brothers which is also produced by Karan Johar.  Brothers is a story of broken family, this family has to sons one good and one is simply opposite and both hates each other like hell and destiny brings them against each other in a MMA tournament where brothers has to fight to prove their supremacy.

If you find one eye catching this in Brothers that is no doubt Akshay Kumar who is simply amazing, he is very innocent in emotional sequences and he is equally badass in action, it’s a treat to watch his doing hardcore training and fight so gracefully with his gray beard, on the other hand we have Sidharth Malhotra who carries one single expression in the entire movie irrespective of the flow on emotion. Jackie Shroff is also good atleast he gives justice to his character and at last our eye-candy Jacqueline Fernandez and she doesn’t do more anything more than looking beautiful on screen.

In first half director takes his time to establish his characters which is a good thing but second half is eye popping because this is the part where all the badass action sequence is. Sometimes this movie makes you so emotional that you will like crying and in some part it will make you feel like “What the hell!” This movie is a roller-coaster ride of emotions yet less enjoyable than a real roller-coaster.

Now lets talk about music Department, after watching the entire film I can only recall 3 songs ,
1.       Brothers anthem (extremely energetic and expertly mixed)

2.       Mera Naam Mary Hai ( already a hit item number although Kareena is a treat to watch)

3.   Sapna jaha (very romantic and well sung by Sonu Nigam and this is the only song which I would like to have in my playlist)

So all and all you will enjoy Brothers if you are an Akshay Kumar or Sidhart Malhotra fan. This movie is not a masterpiece but overall its worth watching.

HAMARI ADHURI KAHANI MOVIE REVIEW

Hamari Aduri Kahani I wont say it’s a perfect film but I even wont say it’s a bad movie. This movie has its own way of expressing it self. In this movie few sequences are so long that it will make you desperate but for good. I haven’t seen a movie with this kind of story treatment in years. If you have some understating about filmmaking than I am sure this movie will touch your heart.

If you like intense drama than climax will really disturb you. One thing for sure only Bhatt camp can bring a movie like this. Movie’s script could be better but still its not a bit bad at all.

Mohit Suri’s direction is not outstanding but still he makes a new and fresh story believable only by his own way of storytelling. After watching AASHIQUI 2 and EK VILLAIN he has raised his own bar of expectations but presentation could be better.

If you ask me in this movie Rajkumar Rao has steal the show he has delivered some excellent sequences. On the other hand Vidhya’s role was most difficult but she is also good and Emraan Hashmi also delivers a good performance.

In music department Bhatt camp follows their legacy and once again all the song are excellent and they are already chartbusters.

So all and all if you want to watch an intense drama than and than only go for Hamari Adhuri Kahani…

BOMBAY VELVET MOVIE REVIEW

Friends I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Finally Anurag Kashyap is back with his ambitious dream project Bombay Velvet. Before you watch this movie you have to understand one thing that Anurag Kashyap has his own distinct way of filmmaking he in no Karan Johar or Rohit Shetty but it does not mean he is not talented according to me Anurag Kashyap is one of the finest filmmakers of Indian cinema.

First of all Bombay Velvet’s biggest attraction is not Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma or Karan Johar its Anurag kashyap’s direction. It’s the first time when Anurag Kashyap is making a movie on this big scale and this movie will decide his future or should I say his playground.

Bombay Velvet is again a typical Anurag Kashyap movie with weird characters and twisty story line. Ranbir Kapoor is playing the character of Johnny AKA johnny Balraj who wants to become a big shot a street fighter and wants to be with Rosie (Anushka Sharma) who is a Jazz singer. And with them we have Karan Johar who is playing the character of Kaizad Khambata.

Ranbir kapoor is just average in this movie his fans will be disappointed but on the other hand Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar are amazing. I was excited to see Karan Johar acting on screen and he is outstanding.

The story of Bombay Velvet takes place in Mumbai 1960. One thing which is really amazing in this movie is Art direction the way they created retro era on screen is simply brilliant.

All and all Bombay velvet does not match Anurag Kashyap standards. Only a typical class of audience will enjoy this movie.

SUNNY LEONE'S "EK PAHELI LEELA"

Hello everyone. Sunny Leone is back again with her latest movie “ Ek Paheli Leela” the trailer is on YouTube if you haven’t seen it yet its right here have a look.

Sunny, who has enthralled the audience with her bold performances in "Ragini MMS 2" and "Jism 2" will be seen in triple roles, which are considered to be her never-seen-before avatars. She will be seen as a glamorous film star, a Rajasthani village woman and a princess.

The drama, written and directed by Bobby Khan, and produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar, will also star Jay Bhanushali, Rajneesh Duggal and Rahul Dev in pivotal roles.

In the film, Sunny Leone will be seen dancing to a reworked version of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's 'Dholi Taaro' from Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Hum Dil Chuke Sanam'. In the trailer as always Sunny Leone is looking stunning but she is also throwing some really heavy dialogues in Rajasthani language and this is the first time she is trying something like this. And the trailer is also kind of confusing.

Again as it stars Sunny Leone not everyone will watch this movie only a specific group of audience will watch this movie.  Produced by Bhutan Kumar and Krishna Kumar, "Eke Aphelia Lela" is expected to hit screens on 10 April 2015.

NH10 TRAILER REVIEW

After creating so much buzz finally Anushka Sharma starrer NH10 trailer is out, I hope you all have seen it if not its on YouTube go for it.

NH10 strange name right? I was thinking the same but NH10 stands for national highway 10. NH10 is a story about a normal couple who lives normal life in a socialize way but all of the sudden everything around them changes and now they have to survive in no law land.

The really liked the trailer. In NH10 we will see Anushka Sharma’s other side. All these years she is been doing all good girl characters but this is the first time when she is really doing something different and more realistic. As long as the trailer is concerned I am very satisfied with Anushka Sharma’s performance.

NH10 is directed by Navdeep Singh who previously directed Manorama Six Feet Under that movie didn’t work on box-office but was highly praised by critics.

In lead roles we have Anushka Sharma and Neil Bhoopalam and this movie is produced by Anushka Sharma so obviously this movie is a big deal for Anushka. This movie has a cameo appearance of Deepika Padukone and its releasing of March 6.

SHAMITABH trailer review

After a long break of 6 years the amazing pair of R Balki and Amitabh Bachchan is back with Shamitabh starring Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush in lead roles. The trailer of Shamitabh is right here have a look.

This trailer makes you more curious about the movie but does not reveal much of story plot. Amitabh Bachchan is in a whole new look and he is looking really different.  In trailer Amitabh Bachchan delivers few dialogue but when he is on screen he creates a magic and he is simply amazing.

Opposite Amitabh Bachchan we have Dhanush who is playing a rising star in film industry. His journey from a small village to film industry looks interesting. Dhanush looks good in trailer at least but in the movie his role has to be interesting and his performance must be power pack otherwise no one will notice his in front of Amitabh Bachchan.

With Shamitabh we have a new face of Akshara Haasan who is daughter of great Kamal Haasan. In the entire trailer of Shamitabh we can only see her face few times and according to me her role in this movie would be nothing more than a pretty face for some songs.

So all and all the trailer of Shamitabh is exciting and the movie is all set to release on 6th February.

TOP 5 WORST MOVIES OF 2014

First of all Happy New Year to everyone. Finally year 2014 is over and for me last year was full of ups and downs. In 2014 we had some really amazing movies but how can we ignore those disasters so here is my list of Top 5 worst movies of 2014.

Om number 1 we have Sajid Khan’s worst nightmare dream project Humshakals. It was a comedy movie or it was supposed to be a comedy movie but I swear it was a disaster. The movie was so lame that it makes you angry instead of laughing. 3 actors in triple role do not mean triple fun. I hated this movie so much that I hate Sajid Khan now and i hate each and every actor who played a role in this movie.

On number two we have one of the most awaited movies of last year which turned out to be a disaster. The trailer was exciting, the casting was good so I was expecting at least a decent movie but no that was a huge mistake. First 20 minutes of Gunday were nice but from the moment Priyanka Chopra appears on screen the movies goes down and down and down and by climax it’s a sinking broken ship.

On number three we have X-POSE. This movie stars the most stubborn actor of our generation Himesh Reshammiya. His music career was going amazing but all of the sudden he decided to become an actor but he forgot one most important thing that to become an actor you must know acting. History speaks that Himesh Reshammiya’s movies are garbage and history do not lie.

On number 4 we have India’s first monster thriller 3D movie named Creature 3D. This movie is about a monster. Now if you are making a monster movie than you must have a scary looking monster. In all these years we have seen Jurassic Park, Godzilla and the giant alien monsters from Pacific Rim and now you are trying to scare audience with a little lizard like cartoon buck up !

On number 5 we have Prabhudeva’s Action Jackson. Throughout the entire movie I was thinking about only one thing can somebody please shorten the film and end it right away. It was a Prabhudeva film so I wasn’t expecting a masterpiece but I was only expecting an entertaining movie but no Action Jackson was so awful that it can give you mental illness for 3 hours.

So guys this was my list of top 5 worst movies of 2014 and next time we will talk about top best movies of 2014 till than keep watching movies..
