BOMBAY VELVET MOVIE REVIEW

Friends I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Finally Anurag Kashyap is back with his ambitious dream project Bombay Velvet. Before you watch this movie you have to understand one thing that Anurag Kashyap has his own distinct way of filmmaking he in no Karan Johar or Rohit Shetty but it does not mean he is not talented according to me Anurag Kashyap is one of the finest filmmakers of Indian cinema.

First of all Bombay Velvet’s biggest attraction is not Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma or Karan Johar its Anurag kashyap’s direction. It’s the first time when Anurag Kashyap is making a movie on this big scale and this movie will decide his future or should I say his playground.

Bombay Velvet is again a typical Anurag Kashyap movie with weird characters and twisty story line. Ranbir Kapoor is playing the character of Johnny AKA johnny Balraj who wants to become a big shot a street fighter and wants to be with Rosie (Anushka Sharma) who is a Jazz singer. And with them we have Karan Johar who is playing the character of Kaizad Khambata.

Ranbir kapoor is just average in this movie his fans will be disappointed but on the other hand Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar are amazing. I was excited to see Karan Johar acting on screen and he is outstanding.

The story of Bombay Velvet takes place in Mumbai 1960. One thing which is really amazing in this movie is Art direction the way they created retro era on screen is simply brilliant.

All and all Bombay velvet does not match Anurag Kashyap standards. Only a typical class of audience will enjoy this movie.

UGLY movie review

When I first saw the trailer of Ugly I was kind of confused because I couldn’t understand what is ugly or who is ugly. But when I saw the entire film than I realized there is nothing Ugly in it it’s another masterpiece by Anurag Kashyap and this movie is about a few people with Ugly intentions.

What makes Ugly different from any other movie, I would say beginning in the beginning there is no grand introduction music nothing like that at all directly cut to the actual situation. One thing which is really impressive about this movie is after watching the movie you can’t decide who was the hero in it because in Ugly everyone is Villain.

Ugly is a suspense movie in the movie a girl is kidnapped and through the entire film you just keep guessing who is that bad guy but Ugly just don’t reveal the that until the last frame.

One thing I particularly liked in Ugly is Ronit Roy he is simply brilliant. He plays a cop who is a bad guy but he never meant to be bad but other people around him make him bad. Remember Ronit Roy’s character is BOSS he is just like that or I say even better.

The movie is so realistic that in middle of the movie you simply forget that you are watching a film you are kind of into it. And the characters don’t throw heavy dialogues in heavy voice, lead actors don’t dance and sing with background dancers. Even in the movie there is one sequence when a character is making tea and you can see the chunks of noodles on his stove. This means he lives alone and had instant noodles, amazing art direction.

So all and Ugly is a great movie or I should say one of the best movies by Anurag Kashyap don’t miss it.

UGLY TRAILER REVIEW

So guys finally on 26th December 2014 Anurag Kashayp’s Ugly is releasing. Actually the movie was supposed to release in mid 2013 but due to some dispute with Indian censor board the movie’s release was postponed but good news it’s releasing this December and the trailer is already out on YouTube have a look.

If you are a fan of Anurag Kashyap just like me than I believe you just decided in your mind that you will not miss this movie. By the trailer you can say it’s again a typical Anurag Kashyap type movie. In the trailer except Ronit Roy all the actors are unknown. But all the actors are looking natural and acting at their best level.

Now the story is something like this “Shalini (Tejaswini Kolhapure) is a middle-class housewife forced to stay at home by her second husband who is a police (Ronit Roy). She considers suicide, and is about to shoot herself in the head with her husband’s gun when she is interrupted by her daughter, Kali (Anishika Shrivastava).Kali is with her stepfather  Rahul, Rahul leaves Kali alone in the car to go to an audition  When he returns to the car, Kali is missing. Police accuse Rahul for kidnapping and tortures him. A game of one-upmanship follows as Rahul and Bose search for Kali while simultaneously attempting to upstage the other.

So all and again like all Anurag Kashyap movie only a specific class of audience will enjoy this film. But I am not gonna miss this one.
