Half Girlfriend - Trailer Review

Hello guys, much awaited trailer of “Half Girlfriend” is finally out and here is my review. If you haven’t watched the trailer yet here it is take a look.

Half Girlfriend is based on celebrity novelist Cheatn Bhagat’s bestseller novel of same name. If you ask me there was a time when I used to be a big time Chetan Bhagat fan but then he became judge of Nach Baliye and he lost my respect and even that was not enough he appeared on Comedy Nights Bachao as a guest so other comedians can roast him and he lost whatever respect left. I understand only one thing writing is one of the most sacred and respected art form so If you are a writer you have to maintain your intellectual integrity you just can’t behave like a television celebrity who  always seek media attention and you are not even supposed to do that.

Now let’s talk about the trailer. Half Girlfriend stars Arjun Kapoor as a small town boy “Madhav Jha” and “Shraddha Kapoor” as a high class open minded Delhi girl “Riya Somani”. Both of them are coming from two whole different worlds and they have only one thing in common their love for Basketball. At first they begin to practice basketball together, Madhav falls in love with Riya knowing that she is way out of his league. Madhav proposes Riya, Riya says “I can’t be your girlfriend but I can be your half girlfriend” and rest of the story follows Madhav’s effort to make Riya his full girlfriend from half girlfriend.

Chetan Bhagat has written many bestsellers and out of all those Half Girlfriend is my second least favorite because unlike his other stories in this story he is not at all talking about corrupt society or rotten education system. Half girlfriend is just a love story and when I was reading that book I could feel that Chetan Bragat wrote this book keeping one thing in mind “This is going to be a feature film one day”.

Half girlfriend is directed by Mohit Suri who is now judge of “Nach Baliye”. Mohit Suri’s specialty is to capture pain of love on screen and he is doing that same thing in Half Girlfriend. He has given Half Girlfriend that “Ashiqui 2” theme where everyone is in pain and shouting and crying. One thing which really stood out for me was Arjit Singh’s soulful vocals in background I simply loved that song.

So all and I liked this trailer and I am waiting for the movie which is releasing on 19th may. Have you watched Half Girlfriend’s trailer what do you think about it please let me know in comments.

KICK MOVIE REVIEW

You may be wondering why i am reviewing this movie after almost a month of it's release. But kick is a Salman Khan movie so i must take time to review this film.

"Jumme Ki Raat" this was the first song which was released from kick's album and the song's trailer said " Jumme Ki Raat Bhai Ke Sath" this line itself explain what this film would be.

When you are making a film and if you are casting Salman Khan as main lead you don't have to worry about script, plot or logic for example Dabangg, Dabangg 2 , Ready.

In this entire film Salman Khan is only being himself. Salman Khan knows what he can do and he never try to do anything new and what he do he is best in that.

I like the stating credits of kick. Because in startin credits not only names are appearing on screen they shows life on Jacqueline in credits with a song in background so they are building up a character with credits smart move.

The film starts with Jacqueline who is feeling alone he met Randeep Hooda on a train and than in flashback they show how she fell in love with Devi Prasad (Salman Khan) who can do anything in life to get a kick and how they broke up. This first flashback is full of funny moments. Than Randeep Hooda tells her that he is chasing a thief named Devil which is his only unsolved case. And in the climax they both come to know that Devil and Devi Prasad is same person.

This film has some high octane action sequence and some cool chasing sequence. My favorite is when Salman Khan is riding on a cycle and he left his cycle right in front of train that was bad-ass.

With this film well known producer Sajid Nadiadwala is making his directorial debut. If we consider this film as his first attempt he has done his job pretty well.

Now spoilers this movie is full of those cheap Salman Khan one liners and some moments of Salman Khan's previous movies. So if you are not a big fan of Salman Khan you will feel annoyed. And first half hour of second half is very slow.

Comparing to other Salman Khan movies this films music is good. "hangover" and "tu hi tu" is exceptionally good and background score is average.

Performance wise Salman Khan is again being Salman Khan, Nawazuddin Siddique has delivered an excellent performance but i wish he could have got some more screen time and Randeep hooda outshines.

All and all go for kick only if you are Salman Khan fan.

In the entire movie only once i enjoyed Salman Khan's performance when he is dancing like a fish on "SAAT SAMUNDAR PAAR"

RATING :- GO FOR IN IN CHEAP MORNING SHOW
