10 FACTS EVEN YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE DARK KNIGHT

As THE DARK KNIGHT is one of the greatest movies of our time and according to me best superhero movie of all time. I don’t know how many times I have seen it but every time it feels like there is more to discover in it. So here are some facts which I am sure you will find surprising and interesting.

1.  Heath Ledger created the Joker’s makeup himself using supplies he bought from a pharmacy. It was also Ledger’s idea to leave traces of makeup on the Joker’s hands, as if the character had done the makeup himself.

2.  Heath Ledger kept a "joker journal" to prepare himself for his role. He scribbled things he could think of to try and feel the character of Joker. He prepared this journal during six weeks of seclusion in a hotel.

3.  The hospital blast scene was a candy factory in Chicago. The explosion panicked residence and they called police to report a terrorist attack.

4.  The Dark Knight was the first film in which IMAX cameras were used. At the time of filming only four IMAX cameras were available in world and one of them was destroyed while shooting a chase sequence with semi-truck and SWAT vans. An IMAX camera costs $500,000.

 6.  When Joker is dressed as nurse, he wears a nametag says “MATILDA" on it. Matilda is Heath Ledger's daughter.

8.  Heath Ledger posthumously won a total of 32 Best Supporting Actor awards for his work on this film, including the Oscar, Golden Globe, BAFTA, SAG and Critics' Choice award.

 9.  Christopher Nolan and his co-writers, Jonathan Nolan and David S. Goyer, made the decision very early on not to explore The Joker's origins. This was so the character could be presented as an "absolute".

10. According to Christopher Nolan, Bruce Wayne's reasons for needing a new Batsuit (to be faster and more agile) were, in fact, the real reasons why Nolan wanted the Batsuit to be redesigned for this film.
