The first five minutes of this movie explained everything what this movie would be realistic , rough , cops , and sax.
Mardaani is all about Rani Mukerji and sax trafficking. Rani mukherji is a bad ass female cop (Shivani Shivaji Roy) whose so called daughter got kidnapped and now she is on chase to get her daughter back. To do so she has to face some extreme situations and huge organized sax trafficking gang.
To make a movie good you must have a bad ass villain now this movie has a bad ass villain a new boy named Karan Rastogi (Tahir Raj Bhasin) who is not any different by his look but the villain inside him is in his mind in his intentions he is like " i am doing my work and i will do anything to do this" hats off to the team of Mardaani for the characterization of villain if you want to see a modern age villain he would be exactly like this. When i first saw him on screen he looked just like an ordinary boy but when he starts his dialogue he is bad ass you instantly starts hating him.
One more thing which is fascinating about Mardani is Rani Mukerji's performance as a fearless female cop she is bad ass. She is bad ass when she is on duty but at the same time she is sensitive when she is with her family so her characterization and her dialogues are is at best.
I think a huge story plot of Mardaani is based on Liam Neeson's Taken (2008). But that doesn't bother me because they improved the screenplay and gave it an indian touch but we can say it's loosely based on Taken.
Mardaani is directed by
Pradeep Sarkar who previously directed Parineeta (2005) ,Laaga Chunri Main Daag (2007) , Lafangey Parindey (2010) but atlast with Mardaani he finally hits bull's eye.
So all and all i suggest everyone to watch Mardaani for Rani Mukerji's performance and it's villain.
Because i really enjoyed this one.
