All this years Bollywood is consistently ripping Hollywood classics,
First it was godfather (Sarkar) than it was Almighty Bruce (God tussi great ho)
and now it’s time for critically acclaimed Warriors (Brothers). When you watch
Warriors you feel like it has all necessary elements to become a top notch
Hindi movie and finally Brothers are out and here is my review of Brothers.
First things first Brothers is directed by Karan Malhotra
who previously directed Agneepath (New one) and now he is back with Brothers
which is also produced by Karan Johar.
Brothers is a story of broken family, this family has to sons one good
and one is simply opposite and both hates each other like hell and destiny
brings them against each other in a MMA tournament where brothers has to fight
to prove their supremacy.
If you find one eye catching this in Brothers that is no
doubt Akshay Kumar who is simply amazing, he is very innocent in emotional
sequences and he is equally badass in action, it’s a treat to watch his doing
hardcore training and fight so gracefully with his gray beard, on the other
hand we have Sidharth Malhotra who carries one single expression in the entire
movie irrespective of the flow on emotion. Jackie Shroff is also good atleast he gives justice to his
character and at last our eye-candy Jacqueline Fernandez and she doesn’t do
more anything more than looking beautiful on screen.
In first half director takes his time to establish his
characters which is a good thing but second half is eye popping because this is
the part where all the badass action sequence is. Sometimes this movie makes you
so emotional that you will like crying and in some part it will make you feel
like “What the hell!” This movie is a roller-coaster ride of emotions yet less
enjoyable than a real roller-coaster.
Now lets talk about music Department, after watching the
entire film I can only recall 3 songs ,
1.
Brothers anthem (extremely energetic and
expertly mixed)
2. Mera Naam Mary Hai ( already a hit item number
although Kareena is a treat to watch)
3. Sapna
jaha (very romantic and well sung by Sonu Nigam and this is the only song which
I would like to have in my playlist)
So all and all you will enjoy Brothers if you are an Akshay
Kumar or Sidhart Malhotra fan. This movie is not a masterpiece but overall its
worth watching.
